Enabling and customizing automated Loyalty emails

Customizing Loyalty email content

  1. Go to Loyalty > Emails
  2. Click on the notification you want to customize
  3. Customize the text that you want to appear in the fields below:
    1. Subject - The subject line of the email
    2. Title - The main heading of the email copy
    3. Subtitle - The secondary text of the email copy
    4. Button - The text of the button that brings the customer to your store
    5. Subtext - Terms & Conditions or fine print text.
  4. Save changes
  5. Make sure to turn the email

Email footer

To comply with email marketing regulations, the email footer contains crucial contact details and an option to unsubscribe.

Customize your email footer by inputting your preferred text in the designated area below:

  • Footer Text - Provides additional context or information, such as the company name and additional contact details
  • Footer Address - Supplies the physical mailing address of the company sending the email, which is required for compliance with email marketing regulations
  • Unsubscribe Text - Offers recipients a clear and straightforward way to opt out of receiving future emails, and is essential for compliance with email marketing regulations
  • Subscription Source - Refers to the origin or method through which the recipient subscribed to receive emails.

📝 Note: The footer content is shared across all email notifications.

Sending test emails

Before sending emails to your customers, utilize our test email feature to verify that both the design and content are functioning as intended.

  1. In the template editor, click on Send Test Email
  2. Enter the recipient's email address and confirm by clicking Send Test Email.

💡 Pro Tip: To send test emails to multiple recipients, separate the email addresses with commas.

Email variables

In the email notification fields, text enclosed in curly brackets represents variables. These placeholders are automatically replaced with relevant information when the emails are distributed. Date format

Choose your preferred date format for email notifications when using date variables, ensuring it matches your desired style or regional conventions.

  1. Go to Settings > General
  2. Scroll down to Customer Facing UI Settings
  3. Under Date Format, select your preferred option:
    1. Default (e.g. 31st Dec 2030)
    2. DD/MM/YYYY (e.g. 31/12/2030)
    3. MM/DD/YYYY (e.g. 12/31/2030)
    4. YYYY/MM/DD (e.g. 2030/12/31)
  4. Click Save.

I'm using the new customer account experience, how can I email all my customers?

If you've activated the new customer accounts feature in your store, it's necessary to enable email notifications for guest customers. Please refer to the instructions provided here.

How do I send email invites to customers who have not enabled classic customer accounts?

This feature is not currently available. However, we offer a guide on modifying Shopify's standard account invitation email to emphasize your Loyalty program - you can access it here.

Can I create a custom email and send it to customers in bulk?

This feature is unavailable, but you can share your feedback here!
