Managing the status of your referrals

Explore the benefits of hands-on referral control and embrace the flexibility of customization. This guide will introduce you to the process of manually overseeing referrals, empowering you to adapt your approach for various scenarios and personal preferences.

Marking referrals complete

While referrals are typically automatically linked to orders when a referred friend makes their initial purchase, you have the option to manually assign referrals as needed for greater control. This feature ensures your referral tracking system remains versatile and suited to your unique requirements.

  1. Go to Campaigns
  2. Click Referrals on the campaign you want to view
  3. Enter the email of the advocate or the referred friend in the Search bar
  4. Click on the referral ID to open the referral details
  5. Click on Manually assign to Order on the upper right side of the page
  6. Enter the order ID as shown on your Orders page in the Shopify Admin
  7. Click Assign Order and Mark Complete to confirm.

Unblocking referred friends

This functionality offers the adaptability to manage the status of referred friends effectively, whether you're dealing with specific situations or simply aiming to provide a more tailored experience. It allows you to remove blocks on friends when circumstances require it.

  1. Go to Campaigns
  2. Click Referrals on the campaign you want to view
  3. Enter the email of the advocate or the referred friend in the Search bar
  4. Click on the referral ID to open the referral details
  5. Click on Unblock on the upper right side of the page
  6. Click Unblock and Process to confirm.
  7. The referral status will change from Blocked to Pending. The individual who was referred can utilize the referral link once more to obtain their reward, or you have the option to manually connect the referral to an order.

Common question

Can I assign a referral to a draft order?

No. You can only assign a referral to paid orders.

Can I manually block a friend?

Negative. The security system automatically flags referrals as 'Blocked' for various reasons. You can read more about it here.
