Getting Started with the Points Program

Introduction

A well-designed points system is a cornerstone of effective customer retention strategies. It provides a tangible way to acknowledge customer dedication and motivate repeat patronage to your establishment

Why Run a Points Program?

Implementing a points-based rewards scheme can significantly boost customer allegiance and revenue for your business. By providing perks and bonuses, you're fostering a favorable shopping experience and consistently cultivating a devoted clientele.

Here's 4 reasons why a points program is so important:

  1. It makes customers feel valued - Awarding points for transactions or specific behaviors gives customers a sense of reciprocity for their patronage. This recognition fosters appreciation and motivates them to maintain their relationship with your brand.
  2. It encourages repeat business - By offering redeemable points, you create an incentive for customers to repeatedly engage with your business. This strategy effectively cultivates customer loyalty and boosts revenue.
  3. It creates a sense of excitement - The excitement of collecting points towards a future reward creates an engaging experience for customers. This positive engagement enhances their perception of your business, increasing the likelihood of word-of-mouth referrals.
  4. It sets you apart from competitors - An effectively structured points system can set your business apart from competitors. Consumers tend to favor establishments that provide reward opportunities, particularly when the benefits are substantial and attainable.

An Overview of BrandLift's Points Program

The Points Program revolves around a system of accumulating and using points within your shop. Shoppers can gather points through various actions, such as making purchases, connecting with your brand on social platforms, sharing product feedback, and more. Once customers have collected a sufficient amount, these points can be exchanged for discount vouchers applicable to their upcoming purchases. Common questions

Is the app compatible with multiple currencies?

Your store's default currency is the only one supported by BrandLift Loyalty. When orders are finalized, the points awarded will always be calculated based on the order value in your store's primary currency. This remains true even if you've implemented Shopify's Advanced plan or the Geolocation app, which allow customers to pay in their local currency. Regardless of the currency used at checkout, the loyalty points will be determined by the order's value converted to your store's default currency.

Are taxes and shipping charges included when customers earn points?

This is the default behavior of the app but you can change this in Settings. Check out this guide for more.

Does the app work with draft order invoices?

When you email a draft order invoice to a customer, they can earn points on that purchase by completing the checkout through the provided link. This requires the customer to have an account with your store. However, it's important to note that these points cannot be redeemed on such orders. This limitation stems from Shopify's platform restrictions, which prevent the use of discount codes on transactions initiated as draft order invoices. For more details on this constraint, you can refer to Shopify's official documentation on draft orders.
