BrandLift and Skio integration explained

The integration between BrandLift and Skio encompasses multiple aspects. Primarily, it allows for the accumulation and utilization of points towards subscription-based orders, along with the possibility of automatically applying discounts to subscriptions. Furthermore, it enables the display of specialized BrandLift Loyalty information within your Skio account. Let's examine the technical aspects and customer-facing elements in detail.

Earning points on Skio subscription orders

Subscribers can accumulate loyalty points for each Skio-processed subscription order. This feature is inherently active within BrandLift, requiring no additional setup on your part.

Points are automatically credited to customers for recurring Skio subscription orders.

Spending points on Skio subscription orders

These accumulated Loyalty points can be exchanged for rewards applicable to subscription purchases. To facilitate this, you'll need to specify which rewards are valid for these transaction types.

Custom blocks

Use Skio's custom embedded blocks to display relevant Loyalty custom data such as points balance and rewards, enhancing your loyalty program management.

  1. From the BrandLift Dashboard, go to Settings > Developer Toolkit
  2. Switch the BrandLift JavaScript API settings to ON
  3. Go to your Skio Dashboard, click Customer Portal > Portal Settings
  4. Scroll down to Custom Block
  5. Copy the example code snippets below and paste it into your embedded block settings
  6. Click Publish on your Skio portal.

Not seeing your Loyalty data displayed in the customer portal? Please make sure you have set up the Multipass feature in Skio.

Add a button to your Loyalty page from Skio

Looking for a simpler method? Use Skio's custom button feature to add a link to your Loyalty Page. Head over to your portal settings in Skio to add a link.

Auto-apply advocate discount to subscription orders

When members qualify for a reward, it's automatically applied to their current subscription, eliminating the need for manual discount code entry. This allows for seamless savings on their ongoing subscriptions.

  1. Go to Integrations
  2. Find Skio in the Payments section and click Configure
  3. Tick the checkbox option Auto-apply advocate discounts to active subscriptions
  4. Enter your Skio private API key (Where to find my API Key?)
  5. Click Save.

Upon completion of a referral and subsequent reward earning, BrandLift will automatically implement the discount code to the member's subscription. This code will be visible in the customer's Skio profile.

Where to find my API key?

  1. From your Skio dashboard, click Account > API
  2. Enter the name for your secret key and click Generate API Key
  3. Click on the chain button to copy your new private key.

Considerations

  • The referral discount is immediately applied to the customer's most recent subscription upon issuance.
  • While two referral discounts cannot be combined for a single subscription, it's possible to use other discounts alongside the referral reward, provided that discount combinations are enabled in both BrandLift and Skio.
  • The referral discount will not carry over to subsequent subscription renewals.
  • Skio marks the referral discount as used once it's been applied to a subscription. If the discount is removed before the subscription renews, you'll need to adjust the discount's maximum usage limit first."

Common questions

Why was the advocate discount not applied to my customer's subscription?

Here are some reasons for not adding the advocate discount to a subscription:

  • A referral discount was already added to the subscription
  • A discount was already added to the subscription but the discount combinations aren't enabled.

I have enabled Multipass and my customers see an error when they log into my store. Why?

This can occur if you have set up the Login redirect URL to the Skio customer portal. If you leave it empty, customers will be taken to the portal by default.
