Require Referred Customers to Create an Account

Introduction

Expand your clientele and enhance verification by implementing a system where referred customers must register for an account to access their incentive. We suggest activating this feature to boost Loyalty program membership and stimulate more referral engagement!

Enable Referred Customer Accounts

This option determines whether referred customers need to establish an account on your site to redeem their referral voucher. The default setting is 'Disabled'. When 'Enabled', it mandates account creation for referral voucher redemption. To activate this option, proceed as follows:

  1. From the Loyalty dashboard, go to Programs > Referrals.
  2. Underneath Referral Rewards is the option for Referrals Customer Account.
  3. Toggle the switch On and save your changes.

After activation, customers following a referral link will be prompted to create an account before claiming their incentive. Upon completing this process, their reward will be visible in the widget, and they'll automatically become members of your Loyalty Program.

Common Questions

Where can I view these discount codes and check whether they've been used?

You can do this in your Shopify Admin by going to Discounts. Here you will see a list of all your store's discount codes. Codes generated by BrandLift Loyalty begin with 'BAL.'

Can the discount code be used more than once?

No, all codes generated by BrandLift Loyalty are single-use only.

Can the discount code be used by another customer?

No, once this feature is activated, the promotional code becomes linked to the customer who has redeemed it.

Should I enable this setting on my referral program?

We advise enabling this option if you detect recurring suspicious activity in your referral program. If you observe any unusual behavior from a particular customer, you have the option to remove them from your Loyalty program entirely by following these instructions.
