Introduction
Optimize your referral campaign's visibility by strategically implementing pop-ups that simplify the sign-up process and capture customer interest at the most effective times. These pop-ups can be incorporated into various interactive elements or triggered for repeat visitors, allowing for effortless one-click enrollment!
Trigger referral pop-ups from buttons and links
Customers can effortlessly access the referral campaign via a pop-up by interacting with buttons and links, eliminating the need to navigate to a separate page.
These HTML components will act as entry points for customers to become brand advocates. You have the option to modify existing elements or introduce new ones within your theme's code.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes
- Click on the ... button > Edit code
- Decide where you want the referral pop-up to be triggered (e.g. the /account page) and search for the file
- Locate the element and add
open-brandlift-advocate-campaign
to its class. If you want to create a new button, use the following code as a reference: - Optional: If you have multiple referral campaigns enabled, add the
attribute
data-referral-campaign-id="{{referral campaign ID}}
after the class for specifying the campaign - Save changes.
Visit your storefront and navigate to the page where you added the element. Here's an example of our new button on the /account
page.
Display referral pop-ups to returning customers
Please note that this feature is currently in its beta phase. To activate it, please contact your designated customer success representative.
Returning customers who have previously made a purchase will be presented with a customized pop-up, inviting them to join your referral program. This strategy aims to cultivate customer loyalty by highlighting the benefits of referring friends and earning incentives.
- From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Checkout
- Scroll down to Order status page
- Copy the following code and paste it into the Additional scripts box
- Save changes
- From your BrandLift Dashboard, go to Referrals > Campaigns
- Edit your preferred referral campaign
- Within the campaign editor, go to Advanced > Post Purchase Advocate Signup
- Check the option Customer return visit advocate signup
- Under Delay, enter the wait time in minutes before showing the advocate sign-up modal
- Under Frequency, enter the number of minutes between showing the advocate sign-up modal again. Set to
0
to display the modal only once - Save changes.
Moving forward, BrandLift will monitor your customers' post-purchase interactions, ensuring that the referral campaign pop-up appears during their subsequent visits to your store. To enhance user experience, we suggest enabling the post-purchase advocate registration modal within a single campaign.
